The last post of this year.

In the past years (June 2018 - December 2022) I have worked for Pro Warehouse, with great joy and lots of challenges and opportunities.

In this reasonable long period I have been given increasing responsibilities, started in a Apple Platform Developer role in which I coded the Erase Install wrapper application. My first real purpose MacOS application I developed, a very nice project to do. This work grew into from being responsible for the project-management of the in-house developed FileMaker Pro application to designing, building and maintaining the Pro Platform. The Pro Platform hosts the FileMaker Pro application and all services and servers to display the data you now see when visiting the Pro Warehouse Sites.

In order to be able to achieve this, more and more roles and thus more team members were needed, so the responsibility of building and leading a DevOps team was added. Inside the DevOps area of responsibility for the infrastructure was not just for designing and maintaining the platform, but also the infrastructure at the office location. So knowledge of VLAN’s, switches, IPSec tunneling and a very nice router/firewall setup was needed. The experiences I had with setting up some basic networking in the distant past helped a lot.

The team around me is one I will not lightly forget. It is a team with a very high standard of responsibility and professionalism. It was a real treat to be able to do this.
On a more personal note: I really loved working with you all. Together we achieved building a platform that can measure with larger environments, mostly found in the financial world security wise.

Lastly the organization decided to pursue not one but three ISO certifications. (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001) In achieving these certifications I played a massive part, with the focus on ISO 27001. As a result of the success in achieving these certifications the role of Security Officer was added to my responsibilities. All in all a lot of different roles to full-fill. Not an easy task, to say the least.

However in the last couple of months it became more and more clear that I needed a new more focused challenge. The diversity of roles made me realize that I would love to do some engineering again. In this past month I searched for roles, and I was found, most via LinkedIN, for roles fitting this engineering desire.

Starting January 2023 am I joining Solvinity in the role as Senior DevOps Engineer.

Where with my departure from Pro Warehouse a chapter closes and with this start a new chapter in my life opens. Although I am leaving Pro Warehouse, I would like to wish them all the success in the world, and I thank all my colleagues for the trust and support they have given me in the last years.

I’m looking forward in what the future will bring.
